Use and Curing of Pipette
Use of pipette:
a. Set liquid volume:
1). When adjusting from large volume to small volume, you need to use the normal adjustment method and rotate the scale anticlockwise.
2). When adjusting from small volume to large volume, adjust clockwise to the scale exceeding the set volume and then adjust back to the set volume to ensure the best accuracy.
b. Assemble pipette suction head:
1). Insert the pipette end into the suction head vertically with a single channel, rotate it slightly from left to right, and tighten it.
2). Prepare a multi-channel pipette, align the first line of the pipette with the first head, insert it at an Oblique Angle, shake it a little bit to tighten it, and slightly exceed the o-ring after the head is inserted.
Curing of Pipette
1). If the liquid accidentally enters the piston chamber, remove the pollution in time;
2). After using the pipette, you need to adjust the range of the pipette to the maximum value, and place the pipette vertically on the pipette rack;
3). According to the frequent use, all pipettes should be regularly washed with soapy water or with 60% isopropanol disinfection, then washed with double steam water and dried;
4). Avoid putting in at a higher temperature to prevent deformation and leakage or inaccurate;
5). Reach out to professionals staff to deal with problems in time;
6). Do not place the pipette horizontally or upside down when there is liquid in the pipette suction nozzle, so as to prevent the liquid from flowing into the piston chamber to corrode the pipette piston;
7). Use the pipette correctly to absorb and discharge liquid to achieve high precision;
8). Method of checking if there is leakage: leave the liquid to stand for 1-3 seconds after absorption, and then observe whether the liquid level in the suction drops; if it drops, first check if there is any problem with the suction head. If there is any problem, replace the suction head. If the liquid level still drops after replacement, indicating that the piston assembly is defective, please find professional maintenance personnel to repair it;
9). For pipettes requiring high-temperature disinfection, please check to see if the pipette being used is suitable for high-temperature disinfection.
Method of Fluid Transfer
Before fluid transfer, ensure that the pipette, gun head, and liquid are at the same temperature. When absorbing the liquid, the pipette maintains a vertical state, inserting the gun head into the liquid surface for 2-3 mm. Before sucking the liquid, you can first suck the liquid several times to wet the suction nozzle, especially when absorbing the viscous or the density of the liquid different from the water. There are two ways to transfer fluid:
1. Forward Fluid Transfer
Press the button with the thumb to the first stop point, and then slowly loosen the button back to the origin. Then press the button to the first stop point to drain the liquid, and pause for a moment to press the button to the second stop point to blow out the residual liquid. Finally, release the button.
2. Reverse Fluid Transfer
This method is generally used to transfer highly viscous, bioactive, foam-prone, or extremely small amounts of liquid by first inhaling more than a set range of liquid, without blowing the residual liquid.
