How to Choose and Clean Sample Vials
The appropriate sample vial should be selected according to the requirements of the instrument and the condition of the sample. In order to prevent the sealing gasket from adsorbing the sample components, a gasket lined with polytetrafluoroethylene or aluminum is often used. The selection depends on the analysis conditions (temperature) and the specific conditions of the sample. Regular analysis can be used with butyl rubber pads, and trace analysis with lined silicone rubber pads. If necessary, use blank analysis to confirm that the volatiles in the gasket does not interfere with the analysis.
How to choose a sample vial
First of all, we must understand that the sample vials mainly include crimp cap vials, screw cap vials, and bayonet cap vials. Crimped cap vials are cheap but need to be equipped with crimp tools, and the caps cannot be reused; screw cap sample vials can be reused and are not volatile.
If you want general-purpose and acid-resistant types, you can choose glass vials; If it is used for very small injection volumes, a micro-lined tube is required; If it is used for samples that are easy to stick to the wall of glass vial and trace analysis, silanization/deactivation is required; If it is used for light-sensitive samples, a brown bottle is required; If it is used for alcohol samples or water-soluble solvents, polypropylene is required.
Secondly, we will talk about the importance of vial quality. If the tolerance is not strictly controlled, the market size and wall weight of the vial may be different, which will affect the sample volume in the vial, especially important for small samples.
Hawach strict tolerance control runs through the entire manufacturing process, from the initial design to the final photoelectric scanning inspection process, the accuracy of the specifications of each sample bottle and cap is ensured. The integrity, cleanliness, and uniformity of sample vials are essential to today’s demanding applications. All Hawach sample vials are manufactured in an ISO9001 clean environment. The unique packaging ensures cleanness and safety during transportation.
How to clean a sample vial
In fact, when we do liquid chromatography, the sample vials are disposable, but the cost is too high, so now we use duplicate sample vials, and we have to clean them better. We can use organic reagents for cleaning as much as possible. Ethanol can be used for cleaning. If you need to use it in a hurry, you can also use it directly after cleaning it with ethanol.
Accurate liquid measurement for application
Making accurate liquid measurements for applications, glass sample vials are manufactured from Type 1 borosilicate glass which is performing perfectly with the factors of durability and corrosion resistance. The construction of a glass sample vial provides exceptional resistance to heat shock and chemical leaching.
Highly recommended for storing cell cultures, blood/serum specimens, sperm, and other biological specimens, Hawach provides our customers with available three styles screw top sample vial, crimp top sample vial, and snap top sample vial which is ideal for collecting and transporting general purpose specimens. With the uniform sidewall and bottom thickness, you can find Hawach glass sample vials in colors of amber and clear with high visibility for your convenience.
The key features of Hawach glass sample vials include attached caps which can help maintain cleanliness, clear vials that conform to USP Type I and ASTM E 438 Type I, Class A requirements, and amber vials made of borosilicate glass which conforms to USP Type I requirements also. All the vials and caps are autoclavable. Hawach glass sample vials always provide simple ways to boost your laboratory productivity and return on your investment.
