Choose the Right Sample Vials for the Right Instruments
Hawach sample vials help you move and store samples and help you get reproducible results when performing analysis. The material of Hawach’s sample vials is high borosilicate glass which includes at least 5% boric oxide. The boric oxide can make the glass resistant to extreme temperatures, and also improves its resistance to chemical corrosion.
Borosilicate glass was invented by Otto Schott, a German glassmaker who worked in the 19th century. Borosilicate glass’s advantage of high strength, high-temperature resistance, high transparency, safety, and environmental protection, makes it very popular for laboratory glassware and other scientific instruments.
Hawach has 3 types of sample vials available, screw top, crimp top, and snap top in both clear and amber colors. The screw thread top Sample Vials which can be autoclaved, are suitable for analysis and are critical to the stability of the glass. The crimp cap of crimp top sample vials can improve the accuracy of the autosampler by providing a larger target area for the needle. Different from crimp tops, you will find that the snap top sample vials are more convenient because they can be applied and removed by hand very easily.
Importance of Sample Vial and Spacers
The selection of experimental instruments is very important to ensure the success of the experiment. Below, let’s briefly understand the key points for the quality selection of sample bottles and gaskets.
1. Importance of sample bottle quality: If tolerance is not strictly controlled, the marking size and wall weight of the automatic sampler sample bottle may vary, which will affect the sample volume in the sample bottle.
Therefore, strict tolerance control should run through the whole manufacturing process, from the initial design to the final photoelectric scanning inspection process to ensure the accuracy of each sample bottle and bottle cap specification.
Integrity, cleanliness, and homogeneity of sample bottles are critical for today’s high-requirement applications. All sample bottles need to be manufactured in an ISO9001 clean environment, and unique packaging ensures cleanliness and safety during transportation.
2. Importance of spacer quality Prevent contamination, avoid needle and instrument damage, and correct pad selection is critical, here are some issues you should pay attention to temperature control. At higher temperatures, the spacer will degrade and lead to sample contamination. The rubber spacer is only stable below 90℃, so it is not suitable for high-temperature application. Generally, PTFE lined silicone rubber spacer is a better choice for various temperatures.
